National Novel Writing Month to begin soon
Hello, members! Don't forget that National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is due to begin next month. Be sure to create your novel on their website, or, if you're new, to sign up.
For those unfamiliar, NaNoWriMo is a thirty-day challenge during the month of November to write a 50,000-word novel. That's right: 30 days, 50,000 words, which equates to 1667 words per day. With over 300,000 participants (as of last year), the community is full of great tips, encouragement, and writerly fun.
The entire event is free, and, if you win, you will receive winner goodies to tickle the writer in you. As if that wasn't enough, the regional forum for the Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte areas (collectively called the Florida::Southwest region) is active, with writing events scheduled throughout the counties. Even if you don't write a novel in November, it's worth joining to take advantage of the camaraderie.
The site hosts an FAQ, but if you have any questions that are not answered there or on their forums, feel free to email us at sarasotafictionwriters@gmail.com. Write the world!
