Diana Colson

As writer, composer, and award-winning filmmaker, Diana Colson created book, music, and/or lyrics for three stage productions, and has written and produced sixteen short films. She also wrote story/music/lyrics for a 35-minute DVD for children called AFRICAN SONGALONGS. 

 

Her travels to exotic, far-flung locations have inspired much of her work, including her debut novel, TRIPLE DESTINY, which is set in both Bali and Australia. The novel was published by Abbott Press in the spring of 2013. 

 

Diana was for many years the Social Notes writer for PELICAN PRESS. She now writes for THE SIESTA KEY ISLAND VISITOR. She also taught music first at SOUTHSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, where she was named Teacher of the Year, and later at ASHTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. 

 

In 2010, Diana Colson was honored by Ringling College of Art and Design for AGELESS CREATIVITY with a month-long exhibition of her creations.

 

In 2011, she was honored by OUT OF DOOR ACADEMY with a presentation of her award-winning films. 

 

A graduate of Scripps College in Claremont, California, Diana received her MA from the University of California at Berkeley.
